On Saturday, November 29, 2003, Canada Palestine Association and ISM Vancouver presented an evening of solidarity with the Palestinian People. Guest speakers included Cindy and Craig Corrie, parents of slain 23 year-old American peace activist Rachel Corrie.
The evening also featured a LIVE phone report from Rafah in the Gaza Strip by Melissa, an ISM Vancouver volunteer and powerful frontline video shot in Rafah by ISM Vancouver and other activists.
Rachel Corrie, a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), was crushed and killed by an Israeli Army bulldozer on March 16, 2003, while trying to prevent it from demolishing a Palestinian home in Rafah, Gaza Strip. She was wearing a high visibility jacket and, according to six international eyewitnesses, was in full view of the bulldozer crew of two prior to being run over.
